G.F. Handel - 'Zadok the Priest'

加冕典禮進行的時候，詩班唱的就是勒休厄寫的經文歌Unxerunt Salomonem。歌詞寫的是《聖經．列王記》記載祭司撒督和先知拿單在基訓膏所羅門為王的事。在拿破崙加冕的典禮，用這樣的文本譜寫音樂，當然是很恰當的。

這段歌詞用於加冕，也不是拿破崙首創的。早在十七世紀英格蘭，就已經把拉丁經文翻成英文，譜寫成樂，用在國王的加冕典禮上。韓德爾在1727年為喬治二世加冕所寫的Zadok the Priest沿用至今，其間歷代英國君王的加冕，都少不了這首樂曲。英國國歌的歌詞也從這段經文衍生而出。
